“Every year since Sophie’s time, the RSCJs have gathered to renew their commitment to the Society to discover and manifest the love of Jesus. We take a break, think of memories, and recommit. Sophie and her companions came together to form a community that would “rekindle the torch of faith and the holy fire of charity” (Constitutions 1815, §1) in a time of revolution and turmoil. Like Sophie, the world in which we live calls us inwardly and outwardly to review and redefine the program of our lives, to “rekindle the torch of faith and the sacred fire of charity” for ourselves, for the people we serve, and for our Church.
