A group of young Religious of the Sacred Heart met in Joigny from 12 to 19 August for a formation session on the vow of obedience. We were 7 temporary professed sisters from Hungary, Spain and France. Some were discovering the house of our foundress, Saint Madeleine-Sophie Barat, for the first time. The first day was devoted to relaxation, with a canoe trip on the Yonne followed by a picnic and an ice cream. It was the perfect way to catch up with each other and get the session off to a good start! The days then revolved around times of prayer and reflection led by Steph Romaine (UK) and lots of exchanges between us.
The visit to Sophie’s house and vineyards was an opportunity to deepen our understanding of obedience in the light of the life of our foundress and the Gospel. Our sisters Christine, from Congo, and Eva from Uganda joined their voices to those of Steph and Ula, detained in Poland, to give us a beautiful testimony, inviting us to live rooted in prayer and the sacraments. Our special thanks go to them.
